What Is A Check Out Document For???

Parent Previous Next

A check out document is a summary of the property condition after a tenant completed their tenancy.

It uses the Inventory completed before the tenancy to prove that any damage or missing items

are either the tenants or the landlord liability. For example if the property is starting to suffer from damp

and then that is the landlords issue but if all the doors have been ripped of there hinges then that is the tenants

responsibility. It is the clerk preforming the check outs responsibility to allocate liability is some situations

as to who will have to pay to put the property back in the condition that it was before the tenancy commenced.

Before attempting to create a check out document you will need to either create and inventory your self or gain access to one.

If for any reason you cant not fill in a section then leave the section N/A, doing this will remove

the section from the finished document but the section will still show when editing if more information comes to light.
